Stockdales Snowman Appeal

Stockdales Snowman Appeal

DSCN2892It may only be October, but we’re already thinking about Christmas. We’re looking for people to pick up their knitting needles and get making ‘The Stockdales Snowman’ to help raise much needed funds over the festive season.

Angie Walsh in our Senior Team came up with the brilliant idea of knitting the snowmen to help us fundraise for our work with people with learning disabilities. We’ve had a great up-take and we’ve had an excellent flurry of snowmen so far. But we are looking for an avalanche of them, so we need people’s help!

We’ll be selling the snowmen for £1 at our Christmas Fair on Sunday 26th November as well other local festive events and from our office at 34 Harboro Rd in Sale. We’d also like to sell them in local shops and venues. So, if anyone can help with this, get in touch!

We’ll happily send a knitting pattern to anyone who wants to get involved. People are free to customise their snowmen too. So far we’ve had the regular ones but with different coloured scarves and some people have even done fluffy snowmen. The only limit is your imagination!

If you can’t knit, that’s OK! You can help us by donating a box (or 2!) of round chocolates instead. We’ve found Ferrero Rocher, Lindor Truffles and Marks and Spencer Swiss Truffle Assortment are just the ticket to make the snowmen look nice and plump.

Anyone wanting to help should email fundraising@stockdales.org.uk or call Natalie or Sally on 0161 973 2296.
