Cooking up a Storm!

Stockdales has been running the cafe at the Avenue Church in Sale on Wednesdays for a number of years now. The dedicated team is made up of service users, staff and a longstanding volunteer.

Each week the team plans the menu, makes the shopping list and get everything ready for Wednesday’s opening. It’s a busy day starting off with preparing homemade soups, fillings for the jacket potatoes and sandwiches, as well as the odd treat such as lemon meringue pie or delicious homemade Victoria sandwich!

Once open, it’s service with a smile, serving customers, preparing orders and taking payments. It’s all great experience. especially for the people we support, who really enjoy helping out each week

The café is open to the public every Wednesday offering a selection of light lunches and snacks as well as tea and coffee. It’s a great place to catch up with friends for a chat and the group now have a bunch of regulars! Why not pop along and see for yourself, we’d love to see you!
