Ashton on Mersey Golf Club – Supporting Stockdales

Members of Ashton on Mersey Golf Club have been raising funds for Stockdales over the last year. Lady Captain of 2013, Sandra Parker, recently presented a cheque for £1,500 to Stockdales and said  “I chose to support Stockdales for our golf club charity because of all the good work they have done in Sale and the Greater Manchester area over the last 60 years. They help children and young adults with disabilities to live more independent lives. I’m very pleased to say the club will be supporting them this year too.”

The money was raised through a number of fundraising events, including the Garner Macken Golf Day which is held in memory of two younger members who sadly passed away. Other events organised were a fashion show and a Thorntons chocolate evening.

Natalie James, Fundraising Manager at Stockdales said, “We can’t thank Sandra and the other members enough for their kindness. Their generosity has been really phenomenal and is very much appreciated. A lot of effort went into raising this fantastic amount and it will help us to buy some essential electronic tracking for a room in one of our residential houses. Thanks again to everyone involved!”
