Musical Connections
Stockdales are privileged to have a number of brilliant supporters who go the extra mile to raise funds for our charity. Kathy Smith is one of those people. Kathy along with her husband Martin run one of the biggest Irish country music distributors in the country, representing some big names on the scene.
The couple have a daughter who regularly attends Stockdales. They have kindly chosen to raise funds for us because of this and we couldn’t be happier. Over the last five years this generous couple have used their musical connections to raise an amazing £11,449.10!
For several years now Kathy has organised an Irish music night to raise funds for Stockdales. The headline act has been Pat Jordan who has freely given his time to support our cause. Pat invites friends and special guests to the evening which is a real treat for the Irish Music fans who flock to the English Martyrs Parish Centre to see some of their musical hero’s. Pat and friends put on a great show with everyone getting to their feet and enjoying craic. The evenings are a sell out and the audience really get involved donating raffle prizes and buying tickets bumping up the total raised, which is fantastic.
Recently Martin also donated funds raised from the sale of “The very Best of Hot Country Hits” CD which he promoted on Sky TV, adding £2,500 to the total. We think they are both amazing and can’t thank them enough.
If you love music, especially Irish music and would like to help Kathy, Martin, Pat and friends raise funds for Stockdales, Pat will be putting on another excellent performance on the 25th of May 2019 with special guest star Marion Weldon.
