Robbie the Minibus has retired – Please can you help us replace him?

We’ve had a very busy start to the year at Stockdales and we’re supporting more people and families than ever!

However, unfortunately we have had some bad news. Our much loved and old minibus “Robbie” has broken down again and cannot be repaired.

Can you help us buy a new one?

Please donate here or sign up to a challenge to fundraise for us, or create your own fundraiser!

Stockdales has a small fleet of specially adapted vehicles to transport our residents and Club members around the community. They are used for a range of fun events and days out,  as well as, attending hospital appointments, and picking up children and adults who come to our Social and Play Clubs —  but whose families don’t have their own specially adapted transport.

The vehicles are essential to extending our residents and Club members’ contact and experience of the world – and offer practical support to families. They mean trips to Blackpool, Delamere Forest, specially-adapted activity holidays, afternoon visits to cafes, choir events, and shopping trips. They allow disabled children and adults to take up their rightful place in the world – and join in, wherever they can.

We maintain our vehicles to a high standard. But there is a point when the cost of repairs and failing reliability means we must replace them. The vehicle we are currently aiming to replace is 11 years old – and has served us well.

A new specially adapted, wheelchair accessible minibus can cost up to £60,000. We are looking at all options to ensure we get the best priced vehicle to meet the needs of the people we support.

Anything you can do or give would be greatly appreciated by us and everyone that we support. Thank you
