We’ve got a big job on our hands! We’re in the process of converting a house into a brand new residential service. This exciting project will make such a difference to people with learning disabilities and life limiting conditions from Trafford and beyond. The service will also offer a much needed lifeline to their families too.
The total project will cost £1.6 million with an investment of £555,000 from Stockdales to buy the house. That means there is just over £1 million left to raise for the property conversion costs. Can you help us with this and be a part of something amazing?
This is a massive and complex project for us, but it’s something we’re well experienced in from developing our other residential services. We know what needs to be done to get things just right to meet the needs of our service users and create a fantastic, specially adapted ‘home-from-home’ for them.
Costs of the project cover our work with the architect, all of the building and structural work and the purchase of all equipment, fixtures, fittings and decoration. Special adaptations will include creating good sized bedrooms to meet the needs of people with disabilities and open plan living areas to allow for multiple wheelchair users. We will be putting in a lift, rise and fall baths and beds, fitting lifting and safety equipment and other disability aids, installing fire safety equipment and doors with wider doorways to allow for wheelchairs and a sensory area. There will also be a new kitchen, bathroom(s) and laundry facilities. The outdoor areas will be landscaped and paved too.
