“It’s never been a chore – we have all benefitted”
Regatta, UK’s largest outdoor clothing and footwear brand is celebrating three successful years of working with Stockdales.
“It’s been really great,” says Gill Russell, PR and Marketing Manager at Regatta Ltd.
“Stockdales have made it easy for us to become involved in any way we can,“ says Gill, “and they have always been really appreciative of our involvement.
“From our point of view, it’s never been a chore and the company has benefited in all kinds of ways.”
Regatta has a strong company ethos of engaging with the local community, but developed a close relationship with Stockdales through an employee.
“The timing was right for us to partner a charity,” says Gill, “and we were interested that Stockdales wanted a more personal relationship through volunteering and people giving their time. They were not just looking for income.”
Regatta employees now volunteer time through the Life Skills programme, helping out at events like bowling, Indian nights and the Christmas ‘do’.
And, of course, the company has been extremely generous in supplying Stockdales residents and staff with all their outdoor clothing – and very fetching they look too!
“We put on a charity show to raise money for Stockdales last year” says Gill, “we had models from Stockdales and Regatta and everyone had a fantastic time. It was a really lovely evening – everyone felt as though they were part of something really worthwhile and special.
“Being connected to Stockdales has also given Regatta, as a business, an increased sense of community – we work together more strongly as a team. Our staff take the relationship very seriously and have really embraced the idea. So we get something back which is benefitting us too, both as an organisation and individually.
“Stockdales have such a flexible approach that they have made it easy for us to become involved, whether its through fund-raising, time or equipment.
“The whole relationship has opened people’s eyes. It’s been really great.”
