Come and see us at the Sale Square Mile Community Event

Stockdales is part of the Sale Square Mile community group which helps organisations raise awareness of the services they provide in the community.  Lucy Gill and Alan Savage of Homeinstead Senior Care  (Altrincham and Sale) came up with the wonderful idea a few months ago.

To create local awareness The Sale Square Mile planned a Community Open Day on November 24th (10:30-3:00pm) at St Paul’s Church Hall in Sale Town Centre.

This is an opportunity for local retailers & businesses to represent themselves alongside local voluntary groups, churches, societies, leisure groups, housing associations and also the NHS.

At the Community Open Day there will be over 35 different organisations with stalls including a fairy woodland photography studio, an Age UK information stand, Human Bingo on the hour, storytellers entertaining those in the cafe. Local charities such as Stockdales and local gift shops from the Sale area will be bountiful.

Home Instead Senior Care are also promoting ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ project. This is where members of the public can buy a present for an elderly person in the community who might otherwise not receive many presents at Xmas. Members of the public can come along to the Open Day and hand in their present by either buying a present from the various stands or by buying a present from the local shops. The presents will then be distributed amongst the community by church groups and voluntary sector organisations like Age UK.

The date also coincides with Sale Town Centre switching on the Christmas lights, entertainment during the day & a Santa parade at The Waterside. Hopefully this will make Sale a great place to be on the 24th November.
