Well done to this year’s D of E Award achievers!

Well done to this year’s D of E Award achievers!

We’re very pleased to announce that some of our service users have successfully achieved their full Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The group has been working on the award at Stockdales since September last year. They have worked hard and enthusiastically to complete all the challenges which include physical sessions, two voluntary work projects, weekend walks, learning new skills and two overnight expeditions.

A presentation evening was held at Stockdales main site on Harboro Rd to celebrate the groups’ success. Steve Berry, Manager of Trafford’s Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme said, “I’d like to congratulate the young people in all that they have achieved for their Bronze D of E, wish them well in the future and hope that they continue with the next level.”

Jill Dobson, Project Manager at Stockdales said, “We’re looking for people to join us for our next intake for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. The benefits are that people will get to help others through the volunteering part of the scheme, they’ll get fitter, develop their skills and go on an exciting expedition.”

Jill went on to say, “Quite simply, people choose what to they want to do and Stockdales helps them do it. Those who have completed the award have had new experiences, made new friends and developed talents that will stay with them for the rest of their life”

If you would like to find out more about doing your Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award with Stockdales, please contact Jill Dobson on 0161 973 2296. You just need to be between 17 and 23 and be ready for anything!

Well done to everyone who achieved the award. We’re really proud of you 🙂
