TR Dallas Evening Raises Thousands

A couple from Altrincham have raised thousands of pounds for local disability charity Stockdales. The charity is close to the hearts of Kathy Smith and her partner Martin Butterworth. Kathy’s daughter, Martina, regularly attends the Stockdales Lifeskills sessions, taking part in activities such as swimming, dance and music.

Kathy organised a fundraising event at St. Ann’s Parish Centre in Streford which saw Irish singer TR Dallas belt out an evening of country and western songs. The event which included a raffle of gigantic proportions raised £1064.00. Partner Martin compiled a special CD of songs which he sold at the event and afterwards, raising over £1,500.00.

Kathy said, “I wanted to fundraise for Stockdales because Martina goes there and loves it. The staff are wonderful and help the service users so much. I organised the event because I wanted to give something back.”

Natalie James, Fundraising Manager at Stockdales said, “We are so grateful to have the support of Kathy and Martin. The amount they have raised is absolutely fantastic. Obviously they have first- hand experience of Stockdales and our work, so to have their help in this way really means a lot to us. Special thanks also goes to the staff at St Ann’s Centre, who helped with the raffle on the evening.”
