Stockdales Recruiting Trustees

Stockdales want to recruit more Trustees to join its’ existing Board.  The Trustees oversee the corporate governance and work extremely closely with the Senior Management Team to ensure Stockdales continues to offer the highest standards of care, for which it has been renowned for over 60 years.

Peter Wall, Chairman of the Trustees said, “We are looking for vibrant people with extensive business or care experience to help us carry on our vital work and, eventually to succeed the present Board Members. We hope younger people will be attracted to working as Trustees. It is a voluntary position and is particularly suited to people to who want to make a marked difference to the lives of vulnerable people.”

He went on to say, “Routinely, we ask people to shadow the Board for one year before committing to Trusteeship. That way, they can work out if it’s suited to them and discover ways they might help most to develop Stockdales. Apart from their corporate responsibilities, our current Trustees help with all sorts of things from organising fundraising events, delivering training and to providing service delivery advice.”

“I’ve been a Trustee at Stockdales for about 30 years and I get enormous pleasure and satisfaction, not only in being able to make a positive contribution to the lives of lots of people who are unable to do many of the things I take for granted, but also in the warmth and friendship of everyone involved, service users, staff, volunteers and the other Trustees.
