Hello Autumn

Hello Autumn

Page 7 - Hello Autumn (2)PhotographyAfter enjoying the summer holiday, we were excited to get back to business with our autumn programme with some exciting changes. As the trees turn to shades of gold, red and brown we’re sure the ‘Media with a Difference’ group will be out and about capturing those special images and enjoying the crisp, bright autumn days. The group have taken on some fantastic projects with the guidance of session leader Justin, a professional photographer who has really inspired the group to be their best.

Our Personal Social Education session has opened up new areas of interest for our service users. They have enjoyed research trips to the local libraries and had fun finding out about their home town. The group have covered health and safety and took part in fun quizzes to test their knowledge. They have looked at how to use public transport as well as brushing up on their reading and numeracy skills. All of which are important to live independent lives.

We’re making the most of our fabulous local facilities, and people can get involved in sports such as badminton through our Really Wild session. Encouraging people to be fit and take care of themselves whilst having a great time too is so important. Music has been developed to now include motivational skills. This helps people to build their self-confidence, encouraging them to lose their inhibitions and let themselves go in a safe and relaxed environment.

All of the old favourites are still going strong too. Lifeskills wouldn’t be Lifeskills without a good dose of cookery and karaoke, now would it?
