A message from our Chief Executive

CEO Emma Morris with Charlotte, taken in 2019

We are hope you are keeping safe and well!

First of all, we’d like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has offered us their good wishes and support. We can’t thank you enough for your kindness. Whether it’s been dropping off shopping for us in the first few days of the lockdown or sending us donations. It all means so much to us. Thank you!

Special thanks also to our wonderful staff team who are weathering this storm so skilfully by keeping everyone safe, upbeat and occupied. You have all been amazing at keeping things going at this uncertain time.

It’s tough for everyone at the moment. Things have changed significantly at Stockdales and we have had to make some difficult decisions over the last few weeks. Unfortunately, we have had to close some of our services. Whilst this is a temporary measure, we don’t know how long they will be closed for.

As you can imagine, all of this has had a profound impact on the people we support and their families too. Stockdales is all about community, not isolation – making this situation especially difficult. But, rest assured, we are doing everything we can to support people who can’t use our services from a distance.

Our residential houses are essential services and still continue to run. The people we support here are high risk because of their health needs. We have put rigorous measures in place to keep them and our key workers as safe as possible, whilst trying to keep things as normal as we can day-to-day. It’s a hard balance.

This is an unknown time for all of us, but we are adapting well to a new way of running our services. We’re looking forward to a time when we can return to normal and offer our other much needed activities.

Thanks again to everyone for your lovely support. We appreciate it!

Emma Morris
